COVID-19 Update

  • January 3rd, 2022

As the year 2022 commences, MFC opens its doors again to our patients and families seeking fertility related services.

As you are aware, COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Ontario. MFC’s main priority is the safety of our patients and staff members and as such, we are always monitoring and following Public Health directives and continue to implement our robust plan to maximize your safety during this current COVID-19 wave. Fertility care is an essential service. At this time, we remain open and are continuing to provide state of the art, comprehensive fertility care services to our patients. Some of MFC safety measures that continue to remain in place:

    • All staff members at MFC have been vaccinated
    • All staff members and patients at MFC are required to wear medical level mask
    • A QR Code Pre-Screening Questionnaire to be completed upon arrival for staff members and patients entering the 5th floor at MFC, as well as a temperature check will occur
    • Social distancing will be practiced throughout the clinic
    • Enhanced cleaning protocols of all surfaces
    • Only those with scheduled appointments will be allowed on the floor, no walk-ins will be allowed. Please contact your Nurse Coordinator or Admin to book an appointment as required
    • Children will not be allowed on the 5th Floor at this time, please make alternative child care arrangements

    What you can do:

    • Follow Public Health guidelines – limiting social interactions, isolate if you have symptoms, an exposure or test positive. For more information visit https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment
    • Notify your care team immediately if you test positive, have/had an exposure or have/had symptom
    • Get vaccinated and/or get your booster (at this time, there is no known negative impact of COVID-19 vaccine on fertility or pregnancy)

    A note on partners/support person

We understand how important it is to have your partner present with you during your fertility journey. We ask that you limit bringing your partner to the clinic only to those times when you are having a procedure and a milestone ultrasound. By following these measures, we hope to remain open through the wave and not have to limit partners for the most sensitive visits to the clinic.
