As a part of your protocol, your doctor has instructed you to use Compounded Progesterone suppository (suppositories). These suppositories are available for purchase here at Markham Fertility Centre Dispensary. They come in 100 mg doses and 200 mg doses and your nursing team will help you understand which one is right for you.

When it's time to perform your progesterone suppository, the first thing that's important to do is to make sure you wash your hands. You'll take one dose out of the package   and you'll open it at the top here like this.

You can run it under a little bit of warm water first, sort of loosen it up a bit and then you'll use your finger to insert the suppository as high as you can in your vagina. It shouldn't cause any discomfort. You shouldn't push high enough that you're causing pain, but just as high as you can keeping it comfortable to deliver that suppository into your vagina.

Then when it's done, you'll just take your finger out, wash your hands, and leave the suppository in your vagina. If you're doing this once a day, you should do it at bedtime so that your horizontal while the suppository dissolves.

If you're doing it more than once a day, you will notice that you'll have a little bit of discharge come out after you've inserted the suppository because you're up and around. That's normal. You'll see it in your underwear. Don't worry about it. The medication is still doing its job in your vagina.

This medication is stored in the refrigerator. Make sure after you take your dose out, that you put your pack back in the fridge until the next time you need to use your progesterone.
